Working on a career

Miles and Mendel will be working on their end of the school year books this week. By the end of the year they will have a hard bound book written by them! I love it! And soon, they will be working on their last six week project for school! I can't wait! They love they last six weeks of school.

As for me, I am working on my writing skills. I know you can't tell since I hardly update the blog lately... lame excuse, I know. But I signed up at associated content. Click here to see my user page.

AND I am working on organizing the boat so when I take pictures to post on the blog it'll look like we are super duper sailors and always keep the boat seaworthy. HA!

Mendel 1.0 bought me a lifebook laptop for an early anniversary gift (May 14th! 14 years! 14 grey hairs. 14 new wrinkles. Coincidence? I think not) and I am loving it. Now I can write without waiting for a kid to get off the computer. It fits in my purse too... and it's cute just like... hmmm... little lady bugs? It's really small and makes me look like Sasquatch surfing the internet. But a very happy Sasquatch! And one that will be updating the blog more often now!

OH... and I have a new visor also. I think my honey is spoiling me. I'll have nothing left to complain about! (give me a week!) So off I go to buy more coffee, assuming Joanne hasn't dumped the pots for the day.

I can't stop hurting myself!

Yesterday I was coming back on board the boat to grab something before Miles and I spent the day out in town. Being me, I tripped over the spring line and fell into the boat, across the cockpit and landed boobs first onto the hatch boards. OUCH! My left leg swelled up pretty quick and I couldn't put any weight on it. Hubby wrapped my leg with an icepack and gave me motrin. After getting ready to go, he tossed me over his shoulder and carried me to the car (I was going WAY too slow!) and took me to the ER for X-rays.

Good news is my leg is not broken! Bad news is that I have a hematoma on my left shin, which is a really horrible bruise, and a strained ankle. I am on crutches for about a week or so. I am very sore in the chest area and arms... and sides... and hips... oh heck! I am just sore! But they gave me 50mg of tramadol to help with pain.

And now, for something different! Tomorrow Mendel 1.0 and Miles are flying to Chicago and then driving to Indiana for 3 weeks of robot stuff. Way cool! Mendel 2.0 and I will be here at the boat hanging out and bonding! Once my leg is better we will go out on the town, but mostly I am just resting for the rest of this week and making sculpty clay things and drawing and watching movies and other fun stuff! I plan to clean out the boat and organize it while they aren't here. If I can manage to not hurt myself, I might be able to!

I am going to go sleep off my tramadols now!

Making my blog pretty!

With spring around the corner, I decided to make my blog look a little better. How do you like it? I think it needs some excitement and I and I was wondering what all of you would like to see... besides pictures. I am working on that! I should have pictures up in the next few days. I was thinking of posting articles that I write. Anyone interested?

We have been riding the bus to the school and for shopping. Overall it is pretty cool. We have met some interesting people. One guy today asked if we could get off the bus with him so we could be his witness when his exgirlfriend beat the crap out of him. That's okay. We were busy. As much fun as that sounds like... Anyway, we are finding the fastest routes. I found it is a lot cheaper than buying gas for my gas guzzling van! I love my van, but not $350 in gas a month worth of love. I have to plan ahead, but overall, I feel like I have more freedom now since I can go where I want. I plan on getting fit this way too! I am using the weight commander website to help me keep track of everything. I don't weigh myself daily though. I thought I'd share the site since a few people asked.

A few people asked about the links that are popping up in my posts. Yes, I know they are here... I put them in when I feel like it. I don't do it all the time but I do like to toss in some links once in awhile. Enjoy!

Now, I must go and be productive now.

Neurologist Appointment

I went to the neurologist and he is scheduling an MRI. Have to go through TriWest to get it approved so it may take a bit. I also have a follow up on March 17. That is the day Hubby leaves for Indiana, but I made the appointment in the afternoon so the boys and I can ride the bus and get back before dark. Since we'll be in downtown, I am planning on making it a shopping trip day too. Officially, I have a concussion. Go me! But I seem to have knocked some sense through my thick skull in the process because I am becoming uber organized through all this. I have my notebook, I'm planning menus again, I am getting things organized and I am way better at remembering things because I write them down. No wonder I forgot so much before... And I am really in love with my sticky notes! I am going to buy stock in the company LOL. Off I go to eat breakfast so I take my medicines. They have me on prednisone to see if it helps with any of my head pain.
