Pirates booty!

I just got off the phone with Mendel 2.0 and he is having a blast. He is spending the night on a pirate ship out in the harbor ARGH! Actually, it's just Doc's boat, but it looks like a pirate ship. I need to go measure cushions but I just HAD to post this since he is having such a fun time!

I can now post pictures! Thank you to the wonderful lady at Verizon Wireless! Sorry for my cussing... but I am happy that the phone is working again. I sent a picture of MB as a test. It went through! YEA! And I also set up twitter. Now if anyone wants to, they can go to here and stalk me! WOOHOO! I'll post updates sometimes... they are also running on the right side of my blog.

I also went to the race committee meeting and learned about the flags and racing starts and all that fun stuff. We went out on the water and did a mock run so we newbies could get a feel for what we will be doing on Wednesday night races.

Well, that was fun. Off I go to take pictures and decide whether or not I really want to post them to the blog HAHAHA!

End Of The Year Books

To answer the comment on another post where I was asked about the end of the year books the boys are currently working on:

The school gives the boys a packet to create a book of their choice. It can be on anything:

• A story they like
• A story they made up
• Poems they think are cool
• A book about me
• A slam book
• A "book about me"
• A portfolio through the year.

The school sends it in (along with the parents payment) to be bound and printed like a "real" book. Last year I just had them make construction paper books because we were too late.
If you don't use a charter school, you can make them or purchase a blank one. Let the kids go wild with it and add what they want.
If you unschool, you could add pictures from field trips, art paintings, a list of books you read, movies, documentaries or something else that you can think of. Have them list their favorite day, trip, project, visit, etc. The ideas are endless! And it can act as a portfolio for you as well as a treasured memoir for you, maybe a wonderful gift for the grandparents.

ARGH! Freaking blog!

So I was trying to change the name of the blog from "The Baker's Anchor" to "Bloggin' Log In" (cute, huh! And it rhymes). And I keep getting and error page. It says to report it to Blogger Help or support or whatever. I remember what happened the last time I tried that. Hours of searching how to find the help and support and lot of Excedrin later, I finally posted my woes to the blog. Thanks for the help again! But I am not going through all that again. So I am just posting it to the blog.
