I guess it just takes a while to post from my email now. I changed a few setting s and my email posted (albeit very funkified) I think I will continue to work on it from emails for now. How does my new template look?

House Cleaning

Well, now that the stomach virus is done with us, I can get back to
cleaning out the house. We have our "schedule" set up and I think it
should work okay. We're going to tweak it as needed. I had to add a few
things to the routine so I wouldn't forget. I added "Shot time" for Mendel
and I to take our Byetta injection (we're diabetic) and pill time during
meal. Miles build his own volcano on the back porch (yea) complete with
vents and glowing lava. He even told me the baking powder in the bottom
will be the magma until it explodes. :)

I am going to work on reading with Mendel since he wants to read RIGHT NOW
but is frustrated that he has to learn all the sounds (what a bummer).
I'll keep working with him on the Teach Your Child To Read book and show
him words outside the book. We're going to do Family math along with
Math-U-See since it has great ideas for hands on math. And science will
have words that Mendel can sound out typed in BOLD in the instructions. He
read two sentences out of a book today without any prompting! He was so
proud of himself. And claims he can't read.

Miles tried that with me today, but I know better. He can't read fast out
loud and has some trouble with larger words, but he can to read! We found
a finger test to help him find books he can read. You flip to a page in a
book and start reading... hold up one finger for every word you do not
know or can not pronounce.

1 Finger: This book is o.k. for you.
2 Fingers: Still good.
3 Fingers: Could be a bit hard for you to understand.
4 Fingers: Will be too difficult to read and understand.
5 Fingers: Choose another book.

I figure this will help him gain some confidence b/c when he is reading
"just to read" and not reading b/c he thinks he is trying to read, he does
a lot better.

Anyway, I need to get to bed.

Good-Night

3) HI MOM!

Okay, We are going to the homeschool group tomorrow and I need to get to bed. I guess I'll figure out why it won't post my emails anymore. I'll keep posting from the site until then.

TATA!

Well, that is weird. I know I emailed my blog twice since being back. Sorry about that Donna and Robin! We made it to Decatur just fine. Got here about 3:30AM. I emailed the blog and then again this AM. I just hopped on to show Jetamio my blog and it doesn't show any new posts since I was in Illinois. DANG!

Sorry to worry you if I did.

We're looking up runes right now. Monday we are going to be making our own sets of runes and I am also making an amulet to quit smoking. Tomorrow we are running to the house and see what food we have and unpack some. Tomorrow night we'll stay at my mother in laws house and then we'll come back to Jetamio's house until our power is turned on. Should be a week.

I am going for now... I see deviled eggs!!! MMMMMMM!

Hello all!

Oh boy I am bad at this LOL. We're in Springfield, IL
right now. No we didn't vanish and no, I didn't forget
about this blog. LOL

We started out our trip in Quitman, MS. Then we drove
through Louisiana into Texas. We stopped at Midlothian and
Brownwood. Then we drove through New Mexico and slept
there one night before heading into Arizona. We drove
through the petrified Forest and the Painted Desert and
then camped that night. THEN the next morning we drove
through the Grand Canyon. I drove straight through to San
Diego, CA from there. We stayed there for three weeks. We
visited my hubby, my grandma in Ontario, CA and my SIL and
her family in Tehachapi. Then we drove up I-5 into Oregon.
That was fun. We drove through Oregon into Washington,
across the panhandle of Idaho and into Montana. We stayed
with Daddy David and Carol and visited for a week. Then we
headed out and drove through Montana, Wyoming, South
Dakota, Iowa, Missouri and into Illnois. We'll be here
until the 22nd or 23rd and we'll be heading through
Kentucky back into Tennessee.

When I get back home, I'll have to have the power turned
back on and clean the house, but then I'll be able to post
on here all the exciting stuff we saw and did along the
way. I'll be back. Keep checking back. I promise I will
update.
